Making a Water Cycle in a Baggie!
Materials
-
Clear resealable plastic bag
-
Water (¼ cup)
-
Permanent marker
-
Food coloring (optional)
-
Tape
Procedure
-
Turn your resealable bag so it has a corner at the top and the bottom. Use your permanent marker to draw a simple water cycle diagram on your resealable bag. Add waves or a puddle at the bottom left corner to represent water and clouds near the top right.
-
Pour about ¼ cup of water into the bag. If you want to add some color, a drop of food coloring works great here.
-
Put your straw halfway into the bag and close the seal around it. Blow air into the bag and then quickly seal the air inside.
-
Tape your model water cycle to a sunny window and observe the evaporation, condensation, and precipitation!
