Making
Spiderweb Slime!

Creepy, crawly and with more legs than would seem necessary, spiders are crucial to our local ecosystems. Most are harmless to humans and have fascinating traits and behaviours, including those that can build an intricate web in 30 to 60 minutes.

We’re even going to do a little spider-work ourselves and make some Spiderweb Slime!

Making Spiderweb Slime!

Materials

  • 1 CUP WHITE SCHOOL GLUE

  • 2 TABLESPOONS CONTACT SOLUTION (MUST CONTAIN BORIC ACID)

  • 1 TABLESPOON BAKING SODA

  • ZIPLOC BAG (PRO HACK TO MINIMIZE THE MESS)

  • PLASTIC SPIDERS

  • 1 TABLESPOON BIODEGRADABLE INSTANT SNOW (ADD MORE AS NEEDED)

Procedure

  1. POUR GLUE INTO ZIPLOC BAG.

  2. ADD BAKING SODA AND MIX.

  3. ADD CONTACT LENS SOLUTION AND MIX UNTIL THE SLIME STOPS STICKING TO THE BAG.

  4. IF SLIME IS TOO STICKY, ADD ¼ TABLESPOON OF CONTACT LENS SOLUTION.

  5. POUR IN INSTANT SNOW. KNEAD MIXTURE IN BAG UNTIL SNOW IS EVENLY DISTRIBUTED AND MIXTURE BECOMES MORE FIRM.

THIS EXPERIMENT IS GREAT FOR BEGINNER EXPLORERS
